Cable-heated combination shower and eyewash rated to −25 °C

An unheated combination station will ice the riser, seize the stay-open valve, and fail the first night shift below zero. DAAO6615-EH-Z is a full-height cable-heated emergency shower and eye wash built for that climate: 2410 mm tall, 304 stainless (316L optional), ABS engineering-plastic shell, and PP insulation over 2.5 mm pipe. The heater is specified at 200 W, 220 V / 50 Hz (other voltages on request). Working ambient is −25 °C to 35 °C. Functions are eye washing, body showering, and water heating. Flows meet the ANSI and EN floors: shower ≥ 75.7 L/min, eyewash ≥ 11.4 L/min. Inlet and drain are NPT 1-1/4. Working pressure is 0.2–0.6 MPa. Explosion-proof marking on the data sheet is Ex II T4–T6. Standards are ANSI Z358.1-2014 and EN 15154-1/2:2006.

This model sits in cable heated systems. It is not a walk-in booth and not the shorter DAAO6620-DF eyewash pedestal (1010 mm, 140 W). Why cable heat plus PP insulation, not a bare trace wire

Heat tracing only works if the watts stay in the water, not in the wind. DAAO6615-EH-Z wraps the 2.5 mm stainless pipe in PP insulation and an ABS shell so the 200 W cable offsets loss down to −25 °C instead of fighting an exposed riser. The shell is the high-visibility green jacket in the photo; it also keeps UV and hose-down off the insulation. Weekly test water should still run. A frozen bowl or a dead pull-rod is a failed “suitable facility,” not a maintenance footnote.

An emergency eyewash and shower station must put flushing fluid on the body and both eyes within seconds and hold that flow 15 minutes hands-free. ANSI/ISEA Z358.1-2014 sets the shower at ≥ 75.7 L/min (20 gpm) and the eye/face wash at ≥ 11.4 L/min (3.0 gpm). EN 15154-1 and EN 15154-2:2006 say the same class of duty. Stay inside 0.2–0.6 MPa so the rose and aerators are effective and not injurious. Heat keeps the path open; it does not by itself make the water tepid (commonly discussed as about 16–38 °C). If the specification requires tepid fluid, add a mixing valve or a tempered water system upstream.

Ex II T4–T6 and outdoor hazardous siting

The nameplate lists Ex II T4–T6. Group II is gas atmospheres other than mines. T4 limits surface temperature to 135 °C; T6 to 85 °C. Order the temperature class that matches the area classification drawing — do not stamp T6 on a T3 schedule or the reverse. Junction boxes, glands, and the 220 V heater circuit must be the same family as the tag. Hazardous-area suitability is only true when the electrical bill of materials matches that drawing. Put the unit on a level, drained plinth within a 10-second travel of the splash hazard (about 16.8 m / 55 ft on a clear path in ANSI discussion, closer for strong corrosives). Keep snow, pallets, and parked trucks off that path. Isolate the heater where operations can see that the trace is live at the start of every cold shift. A freeze-protected station with the breaker off is only a green pipe.

304 or 316L, 2.5 mm pipe, ABS and PP

Wet parts are 304 as standard. Step to 316L for chloride, coastal, and bleach service. Pipe wall 2.5 mm takes outdoor knocks and weekly valve cycles. ABS is the engineering-plastic shell; PP is the insulation. Neither replaces stainless in the pressure boundary. Voltage 220 V / 50 Hz and 200 W are the catalog heater; 60 Hz and other wattages are listed as custom — send winter dry-bulb and wind if you need the cable upsized below −25 °C or for a shaded north wall.

How this model differs from the rest of the heated line

DAAO6620-DF is a 1010 mm heat-traced eyewash-forward pedestal at 140 W. DAAO6615-EH-Z is the 2410 mm combination station with a drench rose, eyewash bowl, PP jacket, and 200 W for −25 °C. Do not put the short unit on a spec that calls for a freeze-protected shower. Do not put this unit on an indoor 10 °C aisle if you only need an unheated combination frame — you will pay for cable you do not use.

Questions buyers ask before the PO

Will 200 W hold −25 °C?

That is the catalog rating with PP insulation and the ABS shell in place. Extreme wind, a missing jacket, or a long uninsulated inlet spool can still freeze. Give us dry-bulb and wind; we confirm or upsize watts.

Is the water tepid at −25 °C?

No. The cable prevents ice. Tepid water is a separate mixing or skid design. Order both if the standard requires it.

T4 or T6?

Follow the area classification, not the cheaper box. T6 is the colder surface limit. We stamp one class on the nameplate.

304 or 316L?

304 for most inland outdoor plants. 316L when the pipe spec or the atmosphere is chloride-rich.
